Privacy Policy

Last updated: [Date]

Your invoices, client details and settings are stored on your own device. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising.

About this policy

In short: everything you enter stays on your device unless you choose to send, sync or export it. Anything that leaves your device is described below.

This policy explains what information [Extension Name] (“the extension”, “we”, “us”) handles when you use it to create and manage invoices in Google Chrome. The extension is provided by [Company or Your Name], [City, Country].

What we collect

The extension handles the following information, all of which you enter yourself:

Type Examples Why
Business details Business name, address, logo, tax or registration number, bank details you choose to show on invoices To print them on your invoices
Client details Client names, emails, addresses To address and send invoices
Invoice content Line items, amounts, currency, dates, notes To create, track and export invoices
Settings Invoice numbering, default currency, tax rates, theme To remember your preferences
Basic usage data [delete if none] Anonymous counts of features used, error reports To fix bugs and improve the extension

We do not collect passwords, browsing history or the content of pages you visit, and we do not collect payment card numbers.

How we use it

We use your data only for these purposes. We do not use it for advertising, creditworthiness or lending decisions.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Information leaves your device only in these cases:

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Browser permissions

Chrome asks you to approve certain permissions. We request only what the extension needs:

Storage and retention

By default, your data stays in your browser’s local extension storage until you delete it or uninstall the extension. If you turn on optional sync or backup [if offered], that copy is kept for as long as your account is active, and deleted within [30] days of you closing it. Clearing the extension’s data or uninstalling removes the local copy.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for anything transmitted. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so keep your device and browser profile protected and back up important invoices.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a regulator. These rights come from laws such as Nigeria’s Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), the EU and UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act.

Because most data is stored on your device, you can exercise many of these rights directly by editing, exporting or deleting it in the extension. For anything we hold, email us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time, and within 30 days where the law sets that deadline.

Where the NDPA or GDPR applies, our lawful bases are performing our service to you, your consent (for optional features), and our legitimate interest in keeping the extension working. If data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.

Children

The extension is for business use and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the extension changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the extension or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
